CITY COUNCIL

The City Council is the governing body of the city and consists of eight council members who are elected by wards. The Mayor appoints the Mayor Protem from among the Council members following the mayoral election. The Mayor presides over all Council meetings and acts as the City Official designated to represent the city in agreements with other entities, but has no voting duties except as required to break a tie among Council.

COUNCIL MEETINGS

The City Council meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. The regular meetings are open to the public and meeting agendas are posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting on the City Hall bulletin board. If you would like to be recognized and speak on any matter to the Council, we ask that you notify the Clerk in writing no later than 4pm the Friday prior to the meeting. Matters related to personnel will be heard in closed session following regular council.
