Filing Information for Candidates
The City of Carterville will elect the following officials in the 2027 election:
- Mayor - 4 year term
- First Ward Council Member - 2 year term
- Second Ward Council Member - 2 year term
- Third Ward Council Member - 2 year term
- Fourth Ward Council Member - 2 year term

Mayor & Council Member Requirements
Mayor:
- Must be at least 30 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be a resident of the City of Carterville for at least 2 years before the election.
- Must be a registered voter in Carterville.
City Council:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be a resident of the City of Carterville for at least 1 year before the election.
- Must be a resident of the specific ward for at least 6 months before the election.
- Must be a registered voter in the specific ward.
